Director.
The First Game explores the beginning of the Republic of Ireland women’s national football team, and the obstacles the players faced to play the game they loved so much.
It traces the team's journey from its humble begingings in 1973, to its place in the 2023 World Cup, on the 50 year anniversary of the foundation of the team.
The First Game is told from the perspective of Linda Gorman, a former international football player and manager of the women's team.
I researched and directed this film as my final year project for my degree in TU Dublin Film & Broadcasting.
It has been screened across the county in many film festivals such as:
IndieCork 2024.
Kerry International Film Festival, 2024.
Waterford International Film Festival, 2024 (Finalist).
Fastnet Film Festival, 2025.
